This project is a personal response to witnessing my grandfather's gradual transformation through Alzheimer's disease — a process that felt like watching someone I knew slowly become a stranger. The vibrant, attentive man I once knew has faded into someone quiet, unfamiliar, and distant. This slow unraveling of memory and identity inspired me to explore the emotional contrasts between “before” and “after” — between presence and absence, vibrancy and emptiness.
This series does not aim to explain the disease clinically, but to give it form — to express what words often cannot. By offering a visual language of forgetting, I hope to invite viewers into a quiet reflection on memory, identity, and the quiet erosion of time.
