CONTAINED

In this piece, the masks, once symbols of protection, now form a fragile, ball-shaped structure, both enclosing and vulnerable. Scattered about, glassy eyeballs rest unblinking, staring into the void, a metaphor for the futile search for connection or escape from the isolation the shell harbors. Two incomplete legs extend, reaching for freedom yet finding none. The structure, soft yet rigid, cradles the paradox: the longing for protection and the acceptance of confinement. Through an object that is both shelter and prison, the piece evokes a quiet unease, reflecting on the fragility that defined the Pandemic.
